Goviso - Network & Firewall
Goviso Port Test
Goviso uses Flash Media Server for live communication between users, such as voice conferencing, video conferencing, and live shared playback control.
This test determines if your network will allow Goviso to create these live connections.
If at least one of the tests succeed, you can start using Goviso immediately.
If all of the tests fail please contact us so we can provide you with a customized setup to allow live communication.
Technical Notes
Goviso will attempt to connect an RTMP connection through port 1935 by default.
Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) is a proprietary protocol developed by Adobe Systems for streaming audio, video and data over the Internet, between a Flash player and a server.
If port 1935 fails, port 443 is attempted next. If this port fails, Goviso will attempt to establish RTMPT (RTMP Tunneled) on port 80, because most firewalls allow communication on HTTP port 80.
If RTMPT on port 80 fails, it is likely that you have a "stateful inspection" firewall that rejects any non-HTTP packets on port 80. If this is the case, please contact us to arrange a solution.
